the feeling that given Angel’s vampiric nature, he would have a dark side to
his sexuality. Avoiding sex would be no solution in the long run, and this is
my take on how he might cope with it. Warning: This story
contains dark themes, prostitution and sexual violence. Please don’t read if
these are offensive/upsetting to you. This story used to be
called Hannah's Realm. ** “If things don’t pick up
soon, I’m going home.” “Yeah.” Hannah cast a sideways
glance at her companion. Carrie
was right; it had been a very quiet night. She watched as Carrie moved back
up the street, and Hannah shivered, although it wasn’t particularly cold. For
the last hour or so, she’d had the feeling of being watched. Hannah wasn’t
normally one to imagine things like that; there were generally plenty of real
things to worry about. Casting around, her gaze
settled on the corner of the alley. Just for a second, she thought she saw a
flicker of movement next to the dumpster; but it was gone now. She peered
into the deep shadows… she had the oddest feeling… “You can come out, now,”
she said, feeling foolish. Suppose nobody was there? Nothing happened and she
felt glad that no one had witnessed her silliness. The deep shadows suddenly
shifted, and she caught her breath as the shadow separated, and part of it
stepped toward her. “Jeez,” she said with
feeling. A dark shape, a man,
emerged slowly into the light. “Sorry,” he apologised. Hannah took a look at
him. He was certainly easy on the eye; over six foot, dark hair, dark eyes,
maybe in his early 30’s; all of his clothes, even his duster, was dark. No
wonder she hadn’t seen him lurking there. “Looking to pass the
time, honey?” she asked suggestively. “What are you offering?” “Anything you’d like.” The dark stranger stared
at her for several moments before asking, “Do you take it in the ass?” Hannah shrugged. “Sure.”
The dark strangers’
expression hadn’t changed, but sensing his indecision she added, “You won’t
be sorry.” “You might,” he shot
back. “I like it rough.” Without missing a beat,
Hannah said, “Cost extra.” She was rewarded with
the ghost of a smile. “Thought it might.” The stranger regarded
her, and Hannah waited. She’d got him interested, she could feel it. Then the
stranger stepped back and allowed her to enter the alley. He followed her
past the dumpster and overflowing trash cans, where she paused to arrange the
details and payment. Hitching up her skirt,
and dropping her panties, Hannah leant forward, bracing herself on some heavy
boxes, and waited. She could feel the cool breeze on her exposed skin, and
listened to the vague rustling sounds behind her. His zipper went down, and
she felt his hands slowly caressing her ass. His fingers rubbed her gently,
and he pushed himself inside her – surprisingly gentle, given his earlier
warning – and held still. With some surprise,
Hannah realised that he was allowing her to get used to his intrusion; more
considerate than most of her paying guests. Many of the girls hated to take
it this way, finding it too painful. She didn’t mind, though. The trick was
learning to relax, and then it wasn’t so bad. Usually. But the guy hadn’t been exaggerating
when he said he liked it rough. He took deep, hard thrusts, his hands
gripping her hips as he pulled her back to meet his forceful penetration. He
cried out as he pushed into her one last time, and Hannah felt his hands
shaking as he released into her. He pulled out, and Hannah straightened her
clothing. When she turned round, the stranger had gone. Over the next few weeks,
The Dark Stranger visited her sporadically. He always wanted the same, and
always vanished immediately after. That suited her just fine; the last thing
she wanted was to chat afterwards.
After a while, she learnt to tell from his expression what to expect;
if he was angry or in a bad mood, she knew that she was in for a rougher time
than usual. One night, Hannah was about to smile a greeting as he melted out
of the shadows, but stopped when she saw the look on his face. He wasn’t just
angry, he was seriously pissed. ‘Oh crap,’ she thought as she led him down the alley. ‘This
is going to be bad’. And bad it was. The Dark
Stranger behaved so differently toward her that he could have been a
different man. There was no discussion of financial details, no consideration
for her, no gentleness. As soon as they reached
their regular place in the alley, the stranger pushed her forward while
undoing his jeans, ripped down her underwear and was slamming inside her,
seemingly all in the same movement. Hannah yelped; that had hurt.
She struggled, suddenly afraid, but he was far stronger than she was, and she
could do nothing to stop him. Large hands wrenched her
hips backward, while cruel fingers dug mercilessly into her hips. The weight
of his body forced her against the unyielding wooden boxes, scraping off the
skin on her hips and bruising her stomach. Again and again Dark
Stranger rammed into her, relentlessly driving toward his peak. Hannah
whimpered and moaned with each brutal invasion. She was past pretending it
wasn’t painful; she just wanted it over. Finally, he was done,
and Hannah could have sworn that she heard him growl. His body crushed hers
as he collapsed against her. But then the pressure was gone, and she could
breathe again. Hannah angrily dragged her palm across her eyes; she’d be
damned if she let him see how much he’d hurt her. Slowly she forced her
ravaged body to move, straightening her clothes and gathering up the remains
of her panties. Everything felt sore, and when she went to rub her hips, she
found her fingers were smeared with blood. “Bastard,” she spat out.
She turned slowly round, and jumped. Dark Stranger stood right behind her,
staring at her with a look of wide-eyed horror. ‘Oh great’ Hannah thought with sudden clarity. ‘A
Schizo’. “I’m so sorry.” Dark
Stranger said. “I shouldn’t have come.” “Hell,” Hannah replied.
”You’d still be goin’ at it, if you hadn’t.” She said it as a joke, but her
tone was hard; she needed to prove to him that she could take anything he
could dish out. Dark Stranger didn’t
smile, but her words seemed to spur him into movement. Reaching inside his
duster, he pulled out his wallet. Hannah hadn’t expected to see any money
from him tonight, and she tried not to show surprise as he counted out the
bills – more than usual – and gave them to her. Hannah took the extra cash
without comment. Well… she’d earnt it, hadn’t she? “You’re okay?” he asked.
That was unusual, too.
Most of the lowlife that tried to crawl inside her just didn’t give a damn
how she felt. “I’ve had worse.” It was
true, too, but her tone had softened. “I really am sorry,”
Dark Stranger said again. “I shouldn’t have come here when I was so angry. I
had no right to take it out on you.” “You wouldn’t be the
first,” Hannah replied, but her mask of feigned indifference was slipping
just a little. “Doesn’t make it right,”
came the soft reply. Hannah didn’t see Dark
Stranger for some time after that, and as the weeks dragged into months, she
stopped thinking about him. But during that time,
something else began to happen, and a new menace arrived on the streets. Throughout the city,
girls began showing up dead. All of the girls were prostitutes, and all
appeared to have been drained of their blood. Inevitably, everyone began to
call the killer ‘The Vampire’, especially when it was revealed that all the
victims had puncture wounds on their necks. Morale among the girls plummeted
and fear was widespread; but they had no choice other than to carry on as
normal, albeit with some reluctance. One particular night,
Hannah had nearly finished her shift and she waited impatiently for the guy
to finish so that she could go home. She wriggled uncomfortably against him;
her legs hurt and she had the makings of a headache. But she remembered to
make the appropriate noises and responses, with a distraction born from long
experience. The guy gave a final
grunt and was still. His face, buried against her shoulder, rippled. Hannah
froze. Something was very wrong, and she instinctively pushed against him, to
push him away. He was too strong, and his hand clamped down over her mouth to
choke off her scream, as she took a look at his face. “No, no, babe,” the
vampire hissed through savage teeth. “We’re not done, yet.” Unable to move with the
vampire pushing her against the wall, Hannah had never felt so helpless. He
was far too strong, and as he slowly lowered those ghastly teeth, and his
fangs sliced easily through her skin, she knew she was going to die. Then, inexplicably, the
creature was gone. Torn from her; she looked up just in time to see it flying
across the alley. “What the…” she
breathed. “You don’t learn, do
you?” A new voice said. The voice sounded familiar and Hannah thought he was
talking to her. But he was speaking to the creature sprawled on the floor.
Dark Stranger advanced on the terrified thing as it tried to scrabble away
from him. “Angel.” It gasped out. “This town is mine.”
Dark Stranger said, advancing forward. “These girls are out of bounds.” “I didn’t know,”
creature squeaked. “Well,” Dark Stranger
replied as something… a knife? Appeared in his hand. “Now you do.” And with
that, he thrust the knife, no, stick…stick? Through the creatures’
chest. Hannah watched in horror
as the man… creature… whatever… exploded, leaving nothing but dust drifting
slowly along the alley. Dark Stranger… Angel?
Turned to face her, and Hannah suddenly realised she was standing there with
her mouth open like a moron. She shut it with a snap, just as her legs gave
way and she grabbed the dumpster for support. “What the hell was
that?” she finally got out. Angel hesitated, and
then said, “Vampire.” It was too much, and
Hannah gave a short laugh, a crazy release from fear. She tried to tell
herself that he was lying, but she couldn’t deny what she’d just seen. “Christ,” she exclaimed,
finally looking at him. “I thought… I’d seen everything, you know? But…” “Yeah.” Angel understood
‘but’ only too well, and he sympathised with her struggle to make sense of
what she’d just witnessed. A sudden thought
occurred to her. “It bit me. I’m not
going to…change, am I?” Angel shook his head.
“It doesn’t work like that. You’ll be all right.” Hannah nodded absently,
then abruptly changed the subject. “You want your usual?”
She asked. “Not tonight.” He turned
to leave, and Hannah watched him, thinking what a really weird night it had
been. “Hey.” She stopped his
retreat. “Angel?” He glanced back,
questioningly. “Thanks.” **** After that night, the
vampire killings stopped. Hannah never told anyone the full story of what
she’d seen… no one would have believed her, anyway. Angel came to see her
every few weeks, and Hannah began to look forward to seeing him. It didn’t
matter that he had hurt her, she was used to that, and all men kept their
brains in their pants, anyway. Often he was rough with her, but not more than
she could cope with; the violent assault was never repeated. Sometimes, just
sometimes, he would hold her after he’d finished, and she would lean back
into his embrace, taking a brief moment of comfort from him. But then the
moment passed and was never referred to. Hannah didn’t like to mix business
with pleasure; she preferred to keep them totally separate; because that was
the way things worked in her world, her realm. The End.
